It is also the third-largest city on Lake Michigan's west shore (after Chicago and Milwaukee), although when combined with neighboring East Green Bay it forms a single metropolitan area known as "the Bay City region". The bay part of Green Bay has been called "Chicagoland" by Midwest media outlets such as The New York Times. The population was 104,057 at the 2010 census. In 2016, Forbes magazine ranked Green Bay #63 on its list of Best Places for Businesses and Careers."Money" Magazine ranked Green bay #65 in their list of best places to live in America for 2014; this was higher than both Appleton (#89) or Racine (#97).
