Lubbock was selected in 2006 as one of "America's Best Cities" by the readers of "Money" magazine. Lubbock was voted most friendly in a 2007 survey conducted by CNN and "Reader's Digest". In 2009, Lubbock was named number one by Forbes for America's best cities to find a job. According to the United States Census Bureau, as of 2010 (the latest year for which data is available), there were 234,900 people residing within the city limits; however, this figure does not include all those living in surrounding rural areas or other incorporated places lying outside city limits (e.g., Wolfforth). The population density per square mile is 882/sq mi (340/km²). There are 140 males for every 100 females and 91 males per 100 females age 18 and over.
