Englewood is located at (35.957285, -84.898987). The town lies in the foothills of the Cumberland Plateau, just south of the plateau's Walden Ridge escarpment and north of its Sequatchie Valley escarpment. Tennessee State Route 107 passes through Englewood as Main Street; it leads southeast to Athens and northwest to Pikeville, Kentucky via U.S. Route 127 Alternate (US-127A), which runs concurrently with SR-107 for about one mile (1½ km) through downtown Englewood before turning west onto Old US-127 toward Pikeville.[3] According to the United States Census Bureau, Englewood has a total area of 1 square miles (2¼ km²), all land.[4] The town center lies along an unnamed creek that flows into nearby Sinking Creek,[5] a tributary stream that drains much of southern McMinn County into Watts Bar Lake on Tennessee River near Kingston.
