The city is also home to the First Tennessee Park, a Minor League Baseball park that opened in 2000. The Clarksville–Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) is a school district serving Montgomery County, Tennessee and surrounding areas of southern Stewart County and northern Christian County. It operates 14 schools including 9 elementary schools, 3 middle schools and 2 high schools: Austin Peay State University High School (APSU), which houses grades 10-12; Fort Campbell High School (FCHS), which houses grades 9-12; as well as an alternative school for students who have been expelled from their regular high school or are at risk of expulsion called The Academy @ APSU. CMCSS has over 8500 students enrolled in its system with more than 700 teachers on staff across all campuses combined. CMCSS employs approximately 200 support personnel across all campuses combined including custodians/maintenance workers, cafeteria workers/cooks & food service assistants among others..
