The Chattanooga metropolitan area is a metropolitan area centered on Chattanooga, Tennessee, in the United States. It includes Hamilton County and Catoosa County in Georgia as well as Bledsoe County in Tennessee. The 2015 population estimate was 668,380. The 2016 population estimate was 670,839 making it the 42nd largest Metropolitan Area by Population in the United States with an increase of 3% since 2010 according to U.S Census estimates released May 2016 (See Table 1). Chattanooga's combined statistical area extends into Kentucky and Alabama across the higher terrain of Great Smoky Mountains National Park to include Clay County (TN), Cocke County (TN), Greene County (TN), Polk Counties(GA)and Cherokee Co.(NC).
