The borough was named after the Beaver River, which flows through it. Beavertown is located at (40.879069, -77.788863). According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of , all of it land. The town sits on top of a hill that overlooks most other towns in Snyder County and can be seen from miles away as you approach Beavertown on Route 220 or Route 44/55 from any direction except for northbound traffic coming off Interstate 80 at Exit 18 (which is only visible when leaving Beavertown heading south towards Middleburg). As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 993 people, 434 households and 275 families residing in the borough.
