About Perrysburg
Perrysburg is the home of the Perrysburg Township Public Library, which has a collection of over 50,000 items. The library also provides access to online databases and streaming movies through its website. The city was named after Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry who commanded American naval forces in several important battles during the War of 1812 with Britain. It was incorporated in 1837 as "Pleasant Village", but later renamed "Perrysburg" by an act passed on February 11, 1850 when it had grown considerably since its founding around 1830-1840s (incorporated as Pleasant Village).
