About City of Asheville

Asheville is home to the United States National Climatic Data Center, the world's largest active archive of weather data. It is also home to a large number of recreational businesses, including hiking and mountain biking trails in the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. Asheville serves as an important regional hub for many high-tech companies and organizations that have brought advanced technologies into widespread use throughout Western North Carolina. The city has been consistently recognized as one of America's best places to live by numerous publications over the past several years; these include "BusinessWeek", "Conde Nast Traveler", CNN/Money Magazine, "Family Circle" magazine (in 2007), Forbes magazine (in 2006), among others. In addition, Asheville was named one of 12 cities worldwide with a City Health Index rating in its highest category—the only U.S city so designated at time when it was released on December 1st 2017 .
