About Maple Grove

The city is located in Minnesota's 2nd congressional district, represented by Jason Lewis. The mayor of Maple Grove is Mark Steenbergh. Maple Grove Township was organized in 1858, and the village of Maple Grove was incorporated on January 15, 1881. It became a township on March 6, 1889; it annexed the village of Arbor Lake on May 16 that year and changed its name to Maplewood Township (the current spelling) after an election held April 3–4; this change took effect June 1.[6] On July 1, 1960 it became a charter township.[7] In 2010 the population was 61,567,[8][9][10] making it Minnesota's eighth largest city at that time.[11] By 2018 estimates ranked as seventh largest with 72 622 residents[12].
