About Greenwood Township

Greenwood Township is located in the northwest corner of St. Clair County and is bordered by Sanilac County to the north, Huron County to the west, Lincoln Charter Township on its southwest side, Addison Township on its southeast side and Blanchard and Richville townships at a point near where M-19 crosses into Huron County. The township includes all of Lakeport State Park as well as part of Silver Lake State Park. The city of Port Austin lies along M-19 at the northeast corner with Sanilac county but is administratively autonomous from Greenwood township although it shares many services with it including fire protection from Port Austin Fire Department which also covers areas outside Greenwood's borders such as Bay City Road (M-25) eastward through Richville to just short of Interstate 69/U.S Highway 23 exit #66 in Blanchard Twp., Michigan..
