Gaithersburg is also considered one of the most diverse cities in Maryland. In 2008, Gaithersburg was ranked as the 19th best place to live among small towns by CNN Money Magazine editors. In 2014, Gaithersburg was ranked number 1 by "Money" magazine's list of places with highest-quality schools and lowest crime rates where people were "living well". It has also been named by Bloomberg Businessweek as one of America's 50 Best Places to Raise Kids since 2010; it placed 4th in 2012 and 2nd in 2013 on that list. In 2015, Niche rated Gaithersburg #2 among America's Top 25 Suburbs for Retirement (with populations over 30k). The city has a high concentration of restaurants serving Ethiopian cuisine; nearly half a dozen such establishments are clustered together within several blocks along Main Street near Montgomery Mall. This community is home to many immigrants from Ethiopia who have established themselves here after years spent living elsewhere around Washington D.C.
