About Kansas City

Kansas City, Missouri, is the largest city in the state of Missouri and is its cultural and economic center. It lies on the border between Missouri to Kansas at a point west of Omaha, Nebraska. The neighboring city across the state line is Kansas City, Kansas; it has been directly contiguous with Wyandotte County since 1872. Together they are sometimes referred to as "KCK". The combined statistical area (CSA) population was estimated at 2 million people in 2017 by U.S Census Bureau data—an increase from 1.5 million residents reported by both cities' governments for 2016—making it one of two metropolitan areas that form a bi-state region known as Greater KC or more commonly called KCMO/KCK which stands for "Kansas City Metropolitan Area.
