The Cedar Rapids Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) is a metropolitan area in Linn County, Iowa, United States that covers the city of Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas. The MSA had a population of 255,452 at the 2010 census. It contains all or part of four counties: Benton County (population: 38,876), Linn County (population: 136,964), Johnson County (population: 90,788) and Jones County(Population : 12 ,542). Cedar Rapids is an economic hub for Eastern Iowa with many insurance companies based in the metro area including Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield.
