According to the 2010 census, Fishers has a total area of , of which (or 99.4%) is land and (or 0.6%) is water.<br>The White River flows through Fishers from west to east, with Eagle Creek running north-south through the center of town before joining it near 116th Street and Allisonville Road in Hamilton County's northeastern corner.<br> As its name suggests, much of Fishers was originally covered by forests; today only small wooded areas remain within city limits as most have been cleared for development or farmland over the years since settlement began in 1820 when William Conner built his cabin on what would become known as Conner Prairie along Eagle Creek just south of where Allisonville Road now crosses it.<br> In addition to being bordered by Noblesville on all sides except for a short border with Carmel at 96th Street between Fall Creek Parkway and Main St.
