The Wood River runs through Hailey and nearby Ketchum is home to Sun Valley ski resort and several other resorts including Bald Mountain Recreation Area & Ski Bowl which offers year-round skiing on its slopes as well as summertime activities such as hiking, biking and golfing on its many trails & courses . The elevation in Hailey is above sea level; however most of the town sits between above sea level due to it being surrounded by mountains that rise up from 3200 feet (975 m) at their lowest point just outside downtown Hailey near City Park up past 7000 feet(2100m) just west of Bellevue along State Highway 75/Sun Valley Road where they reach their highest peak before descending down into neighboring Blaine County towards Stanley Idaho where they eventually descend even further into valleys leading out toward Montana's Bitterroot Mountains .
