The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is a private, nonprofit, accredited university with multiple locations in the United States. Founded in 1978 by Paula S. Wallace as the Savannah School of Art and Design, it was originally intended to provide low-cost degree programs for Georgia residents who had been previously denied access to higher education due to financial constraints or geographic isolation. SCAD offers bachelor's degrees at its four U.S campuses; associate degrees at its two international campuses; master's degrees at all five undergraduate sites; doctoral programs online through SCAD Digital Media Arts Academy (DMA); post-baccalaureate certificate programs through The Graduate School; and continuing education classes for professional development throughout various locations worldwide via SCADA Global Campus Online Program Center . Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport is located on the southeastern side of Savannah on GA Hwy 21 near I-95 exit #80B toward Hilton Head Island/Bluffton from downtown). It has three runways: runway 1L/19R measures 8500 x 150 ft.
