Miami-Dade County is the southernmost county in Florida. It is bounded on the west by the Gulf of Mexico, and on the north by Broward County. On April 1, 2012, its population was estimated to be 2,158,336 with a growth rate of 3.80% since 2010; it was ranked third among Florida counties (behind Palm Beach and Hillsborough) for percentage growth during that time period according to census estimates released in 2011. The Miami metropolitan area includes several urban clusters which make up 305 neighborhoods within Miami-Dade County; these include: Downtown/Brickell (consisting of Brickell Key), Midtown/Edgewater (consisting of Edgewater), Wynwood/Design District , Upper East Side / Little Haiti , North Shore / Virginia Key , Allapattah / Liberty City .
