About Alva

Alva is located in northern Lee County at (26.627856, -81.867892). It is bordered to the north by the city of Fort Myers and to the south by Matlacha Pass, an inlet of Pine Island Sound that separates Pine Island from Cape Coral on its west side. The CDP extends eastward into Charlotte County as far as Goodland Point on Gasparilla Island, which lies across Alva Bay from Alva's eastern edge; however, most of this area consists solely of water and does not belong to any municipality or unincorporated community other than Alva itself. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , all land except for a small sliver along its southeastern corner where it borders Cape Coral proper (which includes part or all of several islands off-shore).
