The town was named for Frederick W. Lander, a railroad official. The town of Frederick is located in eastern Weld County at (40.068177, -104.898328). It is bordered to the north by the city of Greeley and to the south by unincorporated Ault; both cities are separate municipalities from Frederick and have their own municipal governments within their borders, but they share a common boundary with each other as well as with Frederick on all sides except east where it adjoins Fort Lupton which has its own government independent from any municipality or county government authority in Colorado or elsewhere in America.. U.S Route 85 runs through downtown along 8th Street while Interstate 25 passes just west of downtown across Union Avenue/County Road 17 before entering Greeley on its way north toward Denver and Wyoming beyond that state's border after passing through Cheyenne WY first then Casper Wy next then Gillette Wy lastly before crossing into Montana near Billings Mtn City where I-25 ends at an intersection with US Highway 87 there too...
