About Woodland

The city of Woodland is a Tree City USA as recognized by the National Arbor Day Foundation. It is the home of the County Fair and Rodeo, held on the second weekend of each September. The fair has been hosted for over 100 years and in that time has become one of California's largest fairs. Woodland also hosts an annual Christmas Stroll with live music, carriage rides, food stands, visits from Santa Claus and much more during two weekends in December (Friday through Sunday). A large fireworks show starts off both evenings at 9:30 p.m., lasting about 45 minutes each night; they are set off from different locations around town to provide maximum viewing for residents all over Woodland (and surrounding areas). In 2010 Forbes ranked Woodland as one of "America's Best Places to Raise a Family". In 2015 it was ranked 3rd best place in America overall according to "Money Magazine" .
