Santa Barbara is the second-largest city in California's Santa Barbara County and the county seat of Santa Barbara County. Situated on a south-facing section of coastline, the longest such section on the West Coast of North America, it is subject to a cool, rainy marine climate; its average January temperatures range from 54 °F (12 °C) to 68 °F (20°C), while summertime highs are usually around 90–95 °F (32–35°C).
