Chino Hills is part of the Inland Empire region. The city was master-planned by the California State Land Commission in the mid-1950s, and officially incorporated on September 3, 1957. Chino Hills is a relatively young city; its rapid growth from both immigration and internal migration are among the largest in California since at least 1970. The population was 77,983 at the 2010 census.
