Ahwatukee is bounded on its west side by South Mountain Park and Tonto National Forest; on its south side by Tempe; and on its east side by Chandler Heights/San Tan Valley/Queen Creek (all in Maricopa County). The northern boundary of Ahwatukee Foothills roughly follows 48th Street from Ray Road south to Chandler Boulevard, then turns east along Chandler Boulevard until it reaches Pecos Road near 32nd Street where it turns north again until terminating at Warner Road just north of I-10.
