Geography The province is in the Chao Phraya River basin. The main river of Phetchaburi is the Pa Sak River, which originates in Kaeng Krachan and flows through Phetchaburi town before emptying into the Gulf of Thailand near Prachuap Khiri Khan. Other rivers include Tha Chin River, Tha Yang River (Thanon Chai Badana), and Wang Luang Creek. Phetchaburi has a tropical savanna climate (Köppen climate classification Aw). Winters are dry and very warm with temperatures rising to 32 °C (90 °F) or more; summers are hot with temperatures often exceeding 38 °C (100 °F). Rainfall is fairly evenly distributed throughout the year but summer months tend to be wetter than others.
