About Seville

Seville is the most popular tourist destination in Spain, and it ranked first in The Best City Break destinations worldwide. It is known as the "City of Flowers" for its profusion of flowers throughout the spring and summer; its climate (with hot summers, mild winters); and its cultural offerings. The city has two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Old Town district along with Alcázar palace complex, and the Complex of Hispanic Culture which covers an area from Renaissance buildings to modern skyscrapers that are built alongside more than 50 monuments from different epochs representing Spanish heritage before Columbus' voyage to America. In October 2015 Seville was also named European Capital of Gastronomy 2016; this title will be awarded every two years by a group called Europa Nostra during a ceremony on 26 June 2016 at La Alhambra Palace in Granada where King Ferdinand III received Christopher Columbus after his arrival to Americas .
