Vieira was born in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau. He moved to Spain at the age of three and joined Barcelona's youth system in 2015 from Valencia CF. On 2 December 2017, he made his senior debut for the reserves team by coming on as a substitute for Gerard Gumbau in a 1–0 Segunda División B home win against Real Murcia Imperial. On 28 November 2018, Vieira made his first-team – and La Liga – debut with Barcelona's main squad after replacing Ousmane Dembélé during the 4–1 away victory over Huesca; he became only the second player ever to make their league debuts under Ernesto Valverde (after Juan Miranda) and also became one of few players who have represented all three major levels of Spanish football before turning 18 years old (the others being Ayoze Pérez, Mikel Merino or Sergi Samper).
