About Espinho

Espinho is located in the south-west coast of Portugal, 16 km from Porto. It is bordered by the municipalities of Santa Maria da Feira and Águeda (to its north), Aveiro (to its east) and Vila Nova de Gaia to its west. The municipality covers an area of 21 km² at a height ranging between 10 m above sea level in some areas near the Aveiro border to 40 m above sea level along most parts bordering Santa Maria da Feira, with a coastline length that extends for about 5 km. Its highest point lies on Serra do Pilar at 39 meters above sea level while it lowest point lies on Praia das Maçãs beach at 10 meters below mean tide levels.
