About Baguio City

The city is known for its cool climate and pine-covered hills, which are part of the Luzon tropical pine forests ecoregion. It is also famous for its nearby hot springs.Baguio has been recognized as a "Tree City of the Philippines" by the National Arbor Day Foundation, and it was awarded with an honorable mention in the "Cleanest Little City in Asia" contest held in 2007 by SEAPA (Southeast Asian Ministers of Environment). Baguio was also dubbed as a Tree City USA 2008 awardee after winning first prize among medium-sized cities at that year's National Urban Forestry Awards ceremony held at Auburn University, Alabama on April 15–18.
