About Cavite

Cavite is primarily identified with the Caviteño culture, a unique blend of Hispanic and indigenous Filipino cultures. With a population of 4.7 million in 2015, it is the most populated province in the country (excluding independent cities). The province has become an important center for international business and commerce as well as for tourism due to its historical heritage sites such as Fort San Felipe (the first Spanish military fort built on Philippine soil), El Fraile Island ("Isla de Frailes"), Corregidor Island ("Isla de Corregidor") which was once used by General Douglas MacArthur's headquarters during World War II; Kawit, birthplace of Emilio Aguinaldo; Imus City where he established his revolutionary government; Mount Pico De Loro which houses one of Asia's oldest astronomical observatories at Mt.
