Haaksbergen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦaːɡzbɛrɣə(n)] (listen)) is a municipality and a town in the eastern Netherlands, in the province of Overijssel, in the Twente region.
The Buurserbeek flows through the municipality of Haaksbergen.


Haaksbergen was a separate municipality until 2001, when it became part of Hof van Twente. On January 1, 2005 Haaksbergen once again became an independent municipality.
The town is located between the cities of Almelo and Enschede and close to the German border (A1 motorway).
