San Gaspar de los Reyes is located in the Jalostotitlan Municipality of Jalisco, Mexico. It is a small town with a population of less than 1,000 people and has strong ties to the United States due to its large number of immigrants originating from this town. The current local economy is primarily made up of some local services and small markets selling organic goods; however, the greatest influx comes from outside resources including US dollars sent from family members working abroad as well as locals that commute to neighboring towns for work in textiles or service industry jobs. The economy booms during festival periods such as January 6 (Epiphany)and May 24 (Maria Auxiliadora), celebration days for their patron saints respectively.
