Kangar is the main gateway to Thailand's Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The town has a border crossing with Ban Buketa in Narathiwat Province, southernmost part of Thailand. It is also connected by road to the city of Hat Yai in Songkhla Province and Pattani province via Route 4095 (Perlis-Songkhla Highway). Kota Bharu (Jawi: كوتا بهارو) or simply abbreviated as KB, formerly known as Kota Baharu and Tumasik,[2] is a city located on the north coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It's about 200 km east from Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia.[3] The name "Kota Bharu" literally means "new castle/fort" in Malay; it refers to Fort Cornwallis built by James Brooke during his governorship here.
