About Cavriglia

The town is located on the hills of Chianti, crossed by the river Arno. It was founded as a fortified village in 12th century and became an important trade center during the Middle Ages. The city walls were built in 13th century to protect it from Florentine troops, but they were destroyed after 1554 when Florence annexed Arezzo's lands and Cavriglia became part of its possessions.
