About Noida

Noida is a city located in the district of Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. It is situated about 25 km from New Delhi and approximately 50 km from India's capital city, Lucknow. The Noida Authority was created by an Act of Parliament (Act no: 23 of 1970) on 1 September 1970 under the Chairmanship of Shri Rameshwar Dayal to provide planned development for industrial purposes. The first Master Plan was approved in 1977 covering an area adjoining Okhla Industrial Estate to its north-west up to Greater Noida with a population target for 1981 at 0.5 million persons and employment potential at 1 million persons; it also envisaged setting up five satellite towns around this main urban centre with populations ranging between 10,000 and 20,000 each as well as other small townships within these areas totalling over 100 villages or settlements which were part of NCR region before creation/establishment/constitution etc.,of NOIDA Authority .
