Pollachi is located at 11.9°N 77.8°E / 11.9; 77.8 and has an average elevation of 597 metres (1,962 feet). It lies in the Western Ghats range of mountains and is surrounded by hills on all sides except the east where it borders Palghat District, Kerala State to its south-east side which also borders Coimbatore city limits to its north-west side with a distance of about 10 km from Pollachi town centre itself . The climate here is tropical wet type with high humidity during most parts of the year except for summer season when it rains heavily due to South West Monsoon winds blowing across Tamil Nadu state from June till September every year.. The temperature ranges between 16 °C (61 °F) - 36 °C (97 °F) throughout the year but winter temperatures can drop down below 12 degrees Celsius sometimes even reaching 0 degree celsius occasionally in December–January months as well as February month too .
