Moga is a part of the holy Sikh shrines like Anandpur Sahib, Kiratpur Sahib and Talwandi Sabo. Moga has been named after the village of Mogha (now in Pakistan) which was founded by Guru Hargobind Ji. Moga is located at 30°26′N 75°58′E / 30.433°N 75.967°E / 30.433; 75.967.[1] It has an average elevation of 220 metres (721 feet). The city lies on NH 95 between Ludhiana and Ferozepur, about 50 km from each town respectively to its north-west and south-east directions.[2] The total area covered under Mogga City Municipal Council(MCMC) as per Census 2011 is approximately 14 square kilometres with population density being 6,843 persons per square kilometre .
