Thrissur railway station (station code: THR) is a major railway station in Kerala, located in the city of Thrissur. It lies on the Shoranur–Cochin Harbour section and is an intermediate stop for trains between Guruvayoor and Ernakulam Town. The station has three platforms to handle long distance as well as passenger trains. There are two entrances to this Station - one at north side near Pappanamcode which leads to Vadakkevila Road & another at south side near Ambedkar Statue which leads to NH 47 bypass road . The Railway Station has 3 Ticket Counters, 2 Reservation Counters, 1 parcel counter & a book stall .The main building of this historic rail-head structure was built during British Raj by architect Robert Chisholm around 1887 with bricks brought from England.
