About Kunnamkulam
Kunnamkulam is located at 9.8°N 76.1°E / 9.8; 76.1, about 8 km from Thrissur and 35 km from Kochi (Cochin). It lies on the Main Central Road (MC Road) between Ernakulam and Cochin, which was earlier known as NH 47 but now has been renumbered National Highway 17 to reduce confusion with another NH 47 in Andhra Pradesh The town is situated on the banks of River Muvattupuzha or Anjarakandy river which originates in the Western Ghats range just above Kuttampuzha village near Perumbavoor town of Ernakulam district . The river flows eastwards through Kunnamkulam town before joining Vembanad Lake near Aluva .
