About Sanjauli

It is located in the heart of Shimla city. It is one of the posh localities and a shopping hub in Shimla. The area has many hotels, restaurants, shops and markets including Pahari Market which sells traditional Himachali clothing such as "Chadar", "Kurta" etc., as well as jewellery made from silver or gold called 'Zardozi'. Sanjauli was earlier known for its British Raj era bungalows that belonged to rich traders who had settled here during colonial times. Sanjauli also houses several government offices like those of Himachal Pradesh Electricity Board (HPEB), State Bank Of India (SBI) etc.. There are two major temples situated at this place- Shri Radha Raman Temple & Shri Durga Mata Mandir .
