Geography of Goalpara Goalpara is located at 25.7°N 91.37°E / 25.7; 91.37.[1] It has an average elevation of 52 metres (171 feet). The town is situated on the bank of river Brahmaputra, which separates it from Dhubri district in the south and Bangladesh in the west and north-west respectively, while to its east lies Bongaigaon district with a distance of about 50 kilometres (31 mi) apart by road via National Highway 31C . The climate here is tropical wet-and-dry type as per Köppen's climate classification system with distinct monsoons - a hot humid summer from early April to mid October followed by a warm dry winter season starting November till March next year.
