Geography of Guntur Guntur is located at 16.8°N 80.7°E / 16.8; 80.7 and has an average elevation of 43 metres (141 feet). The city lies on the Eastern Coastal Plains, between the Eastern Ghats and Bay of Bengal in Andhra Pradesh, India.[1] It is situated 64 kilometres (40 mi) to the west of Bay Of Bengal, on a plain sloping down towards it.[2] The river Krishna passes through this region from North to South dividing it into two almost equal portions with fertile soil suitable for cultivation.[3][4]: 9–10[5]: 11–12 Climate:The climate here is tropical wet-and-dry in nature with hot summers and moderate winters due to its proximity to sea coast . Summers are extremely hot during April - June months reaching up to 40 °C while winter season lasts from December till February where temperatures hover around 15 °C .
