About Marousi

Maroussi is situated northeast of Athens city centre, and northwest of the Saronic Gulf coast at a distance of about 7 km from it. The municipality has an area of 5.948 km2, the municipal unit 2.639 km2 and is one of the most densely populated areas in Greece with more than 6,000 inhabitants per square kilometer (15,600/sq mi). Marousi's built-up area is continuous with those surrounding suburbs north to Agioi Anargyroi–Faliro–Nea Ionia (north), Petroupoli–Agia Paraskevi (east) and Kallithea–Pefki(south). It borders on Lake Yliki to its west; this lake also marks part its northwestern boundary line with Nea Ionia municipality which lies further east along Attiki Odos motorway towards Eleusis town.
