Aigaleo or Egaleo (Greek: Αιγάλεω pronounced [eˈɣaleo]) is a municipality in the western part of the Athens agglomeration, region of Attica, Greece. It takes its name from Mount Aigaleo. Its population was 69,946 at the 2011 census.


The municipality Aigaleo was formed at the 2011 local government reform by the merger of three former municipalities, that became municipal units:
Aigaleo is situated in a plain between Mounts Hymettus and Parnitha. It is 3 km west of Athens city centre and connected with it through two main avenues (Kifisou Avenue to the north, Iera Odos to the south). Motorway 6 runs along its eastern border. The main railway from Athens towards Thessaloniki also passes through Aigaleo.
