About La Seyne-sur-Mer

La Seyne-sur-Mer is a seaside town with a beach, lying in the northwest of the Var department, between Toulon and Saint Tropez. It lies on the Mediterranean coast, west of Toulon and east of Marseille by rail. The Canal de la Robine passes through La Seyne; it includes three locks down to 33 metres above sea level at Saint Martin du Canigou (fr). The site where La Seyne was built is known as "L'Estaque" or "Le Grau". The old village date back to around 1000 AD but has since been modernized with typical Mediterranean buildings that provide shade from the sun. There are many restaurants along its main street which run from 500 m away from Le Grau up until Place des Lices overlooking all over this beautiful city centre .
