About Saint-Brieuc

It is a subprefecture of Côtes-d'Armor, the capital of Trégor and the center of an urban area with (as at 1999) 89,5% of inhabitants from outside Saint-Brieuc. Saint-Brieuc is located on the Bay of Saint Brieuc. It is around 100 kilometres (62 mi) northwest from Rennes and 450 km (280 mi) southwest from Paris. Its inhabitants are called Briochins in French.[1] The population can increase to up to 200,000 in summer tourist season.[2] With 19th century mansions that have been restored as hotels or restaurants,[3][4][5] and its beaches along its long coastline[6], St Brieux has become a major vacation destination for tourists during summers.
