The town is also a popular tourist destination, with many visitors attracted by the beaches and the island of Sein. The beach at Audierne has been awarded a blue flag for its cleanliness and facilities. There are several hotels in Audierne, including Le Chateau d'Audierne (the former home of local aristocrats) which overlooks the harbour from atop a small hill; there are also two campsites: one on Esquibien beach itself and another near to it. Esquibien is an area within the commune of Audierne in France that was once an independent village but now forms part of this coastal town's urban area as well as being linked to it by road bridges over both canals linking inland waterways with those leading out into Brest Bay (one bridge links directly onto Route Nationale 165).
