About Beijing

The city's Zhongguancun area is known as China's Silicon Valley and a center of innovation and technology entrepreneurship. According to the 2016 InterNations Expat Insider Survey, Beijing ranked first in Asia in the subcategory Personal Finance Index. A survey conducted by ECA International in 2011 placed Beijing on top of the world's cities for quality-of-life, making it one of the three most livable cities worldwide. The Michelin Guide has awarded Beijing by far its highest rating (three stars) among all Chinese cities; it has been rated highly across categories such as management systems, environmental practices, educational resources and infrastructure facilities. In 2017–2018 Global Destinations Cities Index published by MasterCard Worldwide reported that Beijing was ranked number 6th among fastest growing destination cities with an annual growth rate of 5%.
