The city is home to the Northlands Pioneer Village, a living history museum operated by the Saskatchewan Western Development Museums Corporation. North Battleford's economy is based on agriculture and other resource-based industries such as potash mining, oil and natural gas exploration/production, lumbering and manufacturing of farm implements. It has two industrial parks: Nor'Wester View Industrial Park (NWVP) located in the north end of town along Highway 4; it contains over 100 businesses including Shaw Communications call centre; Northern Lakes Business Park (NLBP) located south of Highway 4 near Highway 29 which houses many large companies such as Cargill Canada Ltd., Agrium Inc., Archer Daniels Midland Co., Lantic Sugar Corp., Richardson International Limited - grain terminal facility for Viterra Incorporated among others . Both parks offer business incentives to attract new industry to the area including tax breaks or grants for expansions or start up businesses .
