About Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines

The city is the location of the headquarters of Air Transat, a Canadian airline. Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines is also home to the Séminaire de Sherbrooke (Sherbrooke Seminary), one of Quebec's most prestigious private schools. The seminary was founded in 1844 by Bishop Ignace Bourget and moved to its current site on Saint Anne Street in 1853. It has been coeducational since 1970, although women still make up more than half its student body today as they did when it first opened.
