About Portneuf
The mill was purchased by Quebec-based company, Tembec in the early 1990s. In 2005, Metro Paper Industries bought out Tembec and has since been operating it as a subsidiary of their own company. The town is home to the Portneuf Wildlife Reserve (Réserve faunique de Portneuf), which covers an area of . It is located on Route 138 between Notre Dame de Portneuf and Saint-Luc. The reserve offers camping sites for visitors with access to hiking trails along Lake St Peter or through forested areas that lead up into nearby mountains such as Montagne du Diable (Devil's Mountain).
